Conservation practices. Some of the floor carriers had suffered prolonged timber decay. However all were retained with careful repairs and insertion of flitch plates from above. The historic floor joists have stop chamfers, which add to the charm of the building.

Historic detail.

Newly laid flagstone floor.  At the start of the project, just one internal door remained. We made twenty one new oak doors to replace those that were missing, copying the moulding on the one that survived. All of the oak joinery was simply oiled.
